Frequently Asked Questions/Help
Hard or Soft Clay
Tips for Hard Clay: If your clay is fresh from RMC and is too hard to use for your liking, we would be happy to exchange or refund your order. If your clay has been sitting for a while in your studio and you need some tips to get it usable again, here you go!
Clay has thixotropic characteristics, which means, clay that is too hard (viscous) will become softer when energy is added to it. So add energy to it! Drop it on the ground, throw it on the ground, punch it, kick it, heat it (to low temperatures). If this doesn’t do the trick, add some water to the bag and let it sit for a few days and wedge!
Tips for Soft Clay: Clay dries quickly so if your clay is too moist, let it air out then wedge it. It should become more firm shortly. Please let us know if your clay is consistently too soft though.

Return Shipping Cost: If your return is accepted by RMC, the customer will not be refunded the original shipping cost. The customer will also be responsible for all return shipping and freight costs as well as coordinating their own return freight. If the return freight is damaged, the party responsible for coordinating freight will need to file a claim with the freight company. The return will be processed accordingly.
Freight Damages: It is the customer’s responsibility to note all freight damages as soon as the freight arrives. Any damages on freight items must be noted and signed for by both driver and consignee on the bill of lading. Please check all deliveries carefully as discrepancies must be reported immediately. The damages must then reported to RMC within 24 hours of receipt through a written email with a PDF copy of the damages noted on the Bill of Lading.
Freight: We work with many freight companies to get a great freight rate. We pass these freight savings along to our customer.
