MBG130 Snowy Plum

Snowy Plum is a specialized glaze with a carefully balanced formula, designed to achieve a true reduction copper red effect even in an electric kiln. The glaze works by using a chemical that locally reduces the glaze during firing, creating the stunning red tones. For the reduction to be effective, it must be applied very thickly, though care must be taken to prevent running.

Part of our Copper and Iron Glazes series, Snowy Plum adds a traditional, eye-catching finish to ceramic ware. Like other glazes in the series, it is durable enough for functional pieces but offers a rich and unique aesthetic.
