CoreLite is a hollow-core, extruded kiln shelf made of Cordierite and Mullite. This refractory is resistant to high thermal shock and is suitable for firing temperatures up to Cone ^10, or 2381°.
These kiln shelves are roughly 24% lighter, flatter, and stronger than solid mullite/cordierite style kiln shelves. For example a solid 12" x 24" x 1″ shelf weighs 20.75lbs while the same size Corelite shelf weighs 12.3lbs. CoreLite Kiln Shelves typically see less warpage and are less likely to crack.
