Description

Biz Bod is a popular clay body that is perfect for functional pottery as it handles easily and takes a wide range of glazes. With great plasticity, Biz Bod performs well on the wheel and is also available with paper for improved hand building.

Biz Bod is a strong sturdy clay that will not flop while throwing. Contains a simple but diverse blend of clays, making for an ultimate throwing body. We highly recommend this formula for functional pottery as it handles supremely and takes a wide range of glazes. It fires light brown in oxidation and dark brown in reduction kiln atmospheres.

Named after a well-known potter whose pottery is found in many homes and museums, this clay body formula has a long notable history and is currently used by many professional potters. It was developed in part at Alfred University, College of Ceramics, NY.
