Biz Bod Paper has added paper in it which promotes strength and makes it perfect for hand building and slab work. Not recommended for throwing.
We thought Biz Bod could not be improved, however we included a little something extra to increase green strength and promote even drying. A carefully measured percentage of paper (cellulose) introduces micro-sized tubes into the clay allowing for thinner, larger, lighter ceramic forms, all of which do not affect the fired color or shrinkage of the clay. This blend fires light brown in oxidation and dark brown in reduction kiln atmospheres.
Cone: 6-10
Firing Range: Mid to High-Fire
Clay Type: Stoneware
Texture: Smooth
Best for: Wheel Throwing and Hand Building
Wet Color: White
Oxidation Color: Buff
Reduction Color: Toasty Light Brown
Avg. Absorption Rate at Cone 6 (+/- .5%): 1%
Avg. Absorption Rate at Cone 10 (Oxidation): .72%
Avg. Absorption Rate at Cone 10 (Reduction): 0.21%
Avg. Shrinkage Rate at Cone 6: 14%
Avg. Shrinkage Rate at Cone 10: 16.5%
