BURGESS ICEBERG™ is a general purpose kaolin clay, offering a good balance of optical and mechanical properties in a wide variety of markets and applications. It is highly recommended for titanium dioxide extension. It is a conventionally calcined, median particle size, high brightness clay. It also provides exceptional abrasion resistance in many formulations.
A sub for GLOMAX or any other calcined kaolin for glaze and clay body formulas and recipes. BURGESS ICEBERG® has several advantages: better touchup; better opacity; higher degree of whiteness; better tint strength; easy dispersion and very low moisture levels in a moisture sensitive application; replacement of more costly carbon black.
Other applications: Burgess Iceberg Calcined KAOLIN is a conventionally calcined median particle size 91-93 GE Brightness clay used as an extender of TiO2 in trade sales interior/exterior flat paints, filler/extender in flexible PVC having aesthetics rather than electrical requirements, EPDM wire and cable insulation compound, pharmaceutical rubber, and filler in polyurethane sealant
